ソウメン

                                               

Somen are very thin white noodles made from wheat flour and salt.
They are especially popular in summer as they taste great when cooled.
Somen are simply boiled and served after washed in ice water.


They are usually served along with toppings such as slices of cucumber or green leaves in a glass bowl filled with icy water.

They are eaten after dipped in a soy-based sauce.
Grounded wasabi horseradish or grated ginger, and sesame are added as condiments.
